Hershey Company Information

The main management team worked with the inception of Document Management and Office Automation in the eighties and installed one of the IT’82 pioneering projects sponsored by the UK government.

In 2002 this team now working for a US company selling Document Management software, agreed to take over the UK sector of the business and formed ADG Associates. 2006 saw the demand for a browser based system and following investment from the US, the company was renamed Hershey Systems. This also lead to a new product being added to the portfolio mainly targeted at Higher Education.

In 2010 the US investment was taken over by the Management team and Hershey Systems became fully British owned.

Hershey also moved into the area of hosted Document Management and other hosted applications. Its’ objective remains to provide Document and Process Management Systems meeting the end user’s requirement at an affordable price both for implementation and ongoing costs.

Executive Team

Derek Lewthwaite
CEO of Hershey Systems UK and Europe.

Derek has 30 years experience in the IT industry with 16 years in the Office Automation and Document Management industry. He has worked as Head of Office Automation in two major UK Government Departments and under secondment to IBM, ICL and Philips. His experience covers the full implementation cycle in the range of businesses from SME’s to Corporates, Central and Local Government, Military and Emergency Services.

Ian McMillan
Technical Director

Ian is responsible for the implementation teams and Help Desk. Ian has over 15 years experience in Document management and Workflow solutions. He has worked with BT and Philips and several Document Management resellers. His experience covers consultancy, implementation and ongoing technical support in SMEs and Corporates.
